The Netherlands: here are the fines for road traffic offenses in 2020
The Dutch government published a “Decree on annual road fines for 2020” last week. In 2020, some violations will be punished with higher fines. According to the decree, the fines for exceeding the speed limit will be:

Fines for other violations
The amount of fines for other traffic violations will not change. Here is a list of fines for specific infringements:
- overtaking in the right lane – 240 euros
- Non-use of seat belt – 140 euros
- passing a red light – 240 euros
- use of a mobile phone while driving – 240 euros
- taking away the right-hand drive advantage – 240 euros
- change lane or turn without submitting an indicator – 95 euros
- driving the vehicle without the necessary documents – 140 euros
- driving with fog lights when not needed – 95 euros
- making unnecessary noise, such as the siren of the vehicle – 390 euros
- parking for disabled people – 390 euros
